    Description

    This 10 week term position is available for a young adult (under the age of 30) who would like to gain experience and mentorship working in a church environment.

    Working with appropriate staff this individual would brainstorm, plan, and execute activities and events for kids, teens, and young adults that encourage them to build new relationships in a safe space and help them grow in their character and spiritual development.

    This individual will also help lead a week of evening children's programming in August.
    Planning and Promotion.

    The Summer Events Coordinator will plan event details, including schedules, registration, programming, and budgeting, and communicate those details with the community, church, and families of kids and teens.


    • The Summer Events Coordinator will collaborate with appropriate staff to determine what roles you will oversee and lead during activities and events.
    They will also be prepared and present for activities and events.

    • The Summer Events Coordinator will utilize Microsoft Office and Breeze Church Management database software in the planning and implementing processes.
    Creative. Able to think outside the box and creatively dream up activities and events.

    • Familiarity with a PC and Microsoft Office, along with basic technology usage skills.
    • Loves the local church and is passionate about connecting people into the faith community.
    – All WMBC staff shall be in full agreement with the WMBC Mission, Vision, and Values, as well as the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches Confession of Faith.
    This term position is being partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs.

    Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
