KEY FUNCTION:


Provide clinical support and mentorship to staff and assist the Clinical Manger with guiding, supporting, and coaching staff in achieving program objectives.

Assist with the planning, delivery, enhancement, and ongoing program improvement initiatives of the Regional Eating Disorders Program.


REPORTING:

Under the general direction of the Clinical Manager, Regional Eating Disorders Program.


DUTIES:


  • Assist with the training and mentoring and coaching of new and existing staff while maintaining a clinical case load.
  • Assist the Clinical Manager in monitoring and reviewing clinical processes and formulate recommendations for service improvement and achieving organizational goals.
  • Assist in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating the development of a full spectrum of local eating disorders programs.
  • Assign staff duties and functions on a daily basis, create group schedules and offers clinical consultation.
  • Participate in the monitoring of team member performance and apprise the Clinical Manager of areas of concern.
  • Inform Clinical Manager of any performance related matters, conflicts, safety matters or Occupational Health concerns; complete Incident Reports as required.
  • Promote team collaboration.
  • Act as a liaison and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to achieve program objectives, develop service delivery pathways and foster partnerships across the continuum of care.
  • Evaluate client care and satisfaction on an ongoing basis and formulate solutions for improvement.
  • Identify client service problems that require corrective action.
  • Complete program audits to ensure alignment with Accreditation Standards and organizational and program policies and standards.
  • Actively participate in the Regional Eating Disorders Network meetings and lead meetings in the absence of the Clinical Manager.
  • Assist in the development of proposals/operating plan submissions.
  • Participate in interviews and selection of new team members.
  • Determine and align improvement projects with HSN's Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.
  • Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
  • Educate and promote health, safety and wellness in the work place.
  • Represent the department or program on various committees and in meetings as required.
  • Oversee developmental strategies and follow government body and organizational policies to ensure data is private, confidential, and protected.
  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:


  • Minimum of a four (4) year Bachelor's degree in health related field from an accredited university. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with a regulatory college (e.g. Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, College of Psychologists of Ontario).
  • Certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family-Based Therapy (FBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is required.
  • Current certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (or willing to obtain within three (3) months)
  • Ministry of Labour "Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps" training certificate is required.

EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum of three (3) years' recent experience in a psychiatric/mental health field with experience in eating disorders is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading an interdisciplinary team and facilitating therapeutic groups.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing psychosocial assessment, treatment, and monitoring/evaluation of psychiatric/medical patients.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a communitybased or outpatient setting.
  • Training and/or recent experience with project management is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices and levels of care relating to eating disorder treatment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of psychological factors affecting eating disorder clients and indepth understanding of the psychosocial, physical, and functional problems endemic to eating disorders.
  • Proven experience providing individual therapy and in group settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical support/supervision, and develop professional growth in others.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning, teaching and coaching skills.
