    Description


    As the Director of Employee and Labour Relations oversees, the Human Resources Business Manager holds responsibility for managing specific Region(s) to strategically develop and oversee human resources functions.

    This includes regional planning, employee performance management and development, employee/labor relations, privacy, HR program evaluation, occupational health and safety, as well as policies and procedures to enhance the agency's overall effectiveness.

    Collaborating closely with Directors and Managers, they provide support to achieve individual and organizational goals, ensuring that human resources practices align with these objectives.

    Additionally, the Human Resources Business Manager offers comprehensive client support, ensuring awareness of legislation and regulations, and providing guidance on compliance within service provision.

    Responsibilities
    Reviews and adheres to Policies and Procedures across various departments.
    Takes on manager responsibilities for Health & Safety as per relevant regulations.
    Attends Regional management meetings as necessary.
    Develops positive mentoring relationships with managers.
    Creates communication plans and presentations for different organizational levels.
    Assists with negotiations, grievances, and Arbitrations.
    Acts as the lead customer service agent, facilitating issue resolution.
    Supports managers in addressing complex labor and employee relations issues.
    Mentors other HR team members.
    Leads labor relations processes including grievance administration.
    Conducts workplace investigations and prepares briefing notes.
    Oversees employee and labor relations for employee satisfaction.
    Interprets union-management agreements and represents management in negotiations.
    Develops proactive strategies with management to impact human capital measures positively.
    Participates in HR policy, procedure, and program development.
    Ensures accuracy, completion, and confidentiality of documentation.
    Maintains positive relationships with relevant partners/stakeholders.
    Provides follow-up to ensure action plans are implemented.
    Reports metrics and analytics to relevant stakeholders.

    Qualifications


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or related field
    Preferred certification as a Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL)

    Experience:
    2-4 years of experience in a human resources generalist role
    Management experience is preferred
    Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, or the public sector, particularly in a unionized environment, is desirable
    Demonstrated coaching, counseling, and facilitation skills to guide managers/directors in effective employee/labour relation practices
    Strong commitment to client service excellence, reliability, and problem-solving focused on advancing organizational goals
    Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated working knowledge of relevant Employee and Labour Legislation, including Employment Standards, Ontario Labour Relations Act, and Human Rights Code
