About the Estimator position:

Currently, we are seeking an
Estimator to join our Building Automation Controls team in Burnaby, BC.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a critical role for the team, ensuring every project begins with proper, professional estimation.

The Estimator will review specifications and provide accurate estimates for RFP and Design Build work. This role supports our sales efforts and may interact with Houle clients.

Estimator Duties and Responsibilities:

Read engineering drawings (including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, plumbing IFCs/IFTs) and specifications and develop HVAC control system estimates
Select controls equipment and field devices to meet specifications
Provide accurate and detailed project budgets and estimates, including options or change orders
Remain up to date on estimating templates and all applicable labour, material, and equipment rates
Be familiar with integration of various systems such as chillers, boilers, metering, and lighting panels
Remain familiar with new products, solution versions, upgrades, and compatibility
Actively participate in estimate reviews
Must be accessible during work hours and attend project sites and/or team meetings in person on occasion.

Experience and Skills:

5+ years of Building Automation Controls commercial solution/services industry experience required
Experience as a Building Automation Controls systems estimator
Reliable Controls and Schneider Electric EcoStruxure systems experience preferred
Accubid experience an asset
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree an asset
Must thrive in a fastpaced environment
Must remain calm and professional under pressure
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people
Class 5 Driver license with clean record
