Safety Administrative Support Specialist
Southland Transportation is a leading transportation company dedicated to safety, efficiency, and employee well-being.
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Safety Administrative Support Specialist to contribute to the success of our Safety Department.
Responsibilities:
As a Safety Administrative Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing support to the Safety Department
Your responsibilities will include:
- Offer administrative support in reporting, audits, program development, training, mentoring, and enforcing company policies and procedures
- Serve as a point of contact for Safety matters and coordinating with the Safety Lead for resolution of questions or issues
- Assist the Safety Lead with daytoday departmental needs
- Prepare various departmental documents, such as reports, organizational charts, and company alerts
- Provide support to the Safety department for all preemployment drug and alcohol tests
- Handle daily routine administrative clerical duties as needed
- Act as an administrative liaison for other departments and offices
- Support the Safety department with company safety databases, including TRIP, Webrisk, and Googledocs
- Assist the Safety Lead with office emergency evacuations and coordinate annual fire drills and facility inspections
- Assist with the WCB case management process
- Support the Safety Lead with issuing PPE, maintaining inventory, and conducting PPE and inspection reviews
- Respond to employees in a professional and efficient manner
- Maintain all records, documents, and HRrelated matters in strict confidence
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 2 years of administrative experience in Safety
- Knowledge of the WCB case management process (preferred)
- Professional and positive interpersonal communication skills, with experience handling confidential information
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a highpaced work environment
- Experience working in transportation (preferred)
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$18.00-$22.00 per hour
