Safety Administrative Support Specialist
Southland Transportation is a leading transportation company dedicated to safety, efficiency, and employee well-being.

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Safety Administrative Support Specialist to contribute to the success of our Safety Department.


Responsibilities:

As a Safety Administrative Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing support to the Safety Department


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offer administrative support in reporting, audits, program development, training, mentoring, and enforcing company policies and procedures
  • Serve as a point of contact for Safety matters and coordinating with the Safety Lead for resolution of questions or issues
  • Assist the Safety Lead with daytoday departmental needs
  • Prepare various departmental documents, such as reports, organizational charts, and company alerts
  • Provide support to the Safety department for all preemployment drug and alcohol tests
  • Handle daily routine administrative clerical duties as needed
  • Act as an administrative liaison for other departments and offices
  • Support the Safety department with company safety databases, including TRIP, Webrisk, and Googledocs
  • Assist the Safety Lead with office emergency evacuations and coordinate annual fire drills and facility inspections
  • Assist with the WCB case management process
  • Support the Safety Lead with issuing PPE, maintaining inventory, and conducting PPE and inspection reviews
  • Respond to employees in a professional and efficient manner
  • Maintain all records, documents, and HRrelated matters in strict confidence

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 2 years of administrative experience in Safety
  • Knowledge of the WCB case management process (preferred)
  • Professional and positive interpersonal communication skills, with experience handling confidential information
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a highpaced work environment
  • Experience working in transportation (preferred)

$18.00-$22.00 per hour
