Description

Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician to join our team as a Service Technician for Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems (VFSS) in Rocanville.

This opportunity offers a desired work schedule of 4 days weekly, 10 hours a day.

Your role will include diverse maintenance and repair activities including:

Inspecting, repairing, and providing maintenance of vehicle fire suppression systems and other types of Fire & Life Safety Equipment underground
Conducting life safety inspections and audits, with value-add suggestions for follow-up and maintenance
Performing site-specific training for owners and end users
Being the Face of Levitt-Safety for our customers and their onsite safety needs

Experience working in a mechanical shop or equivalent hands-on role with vehicles or other motorized equipment
Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude with experience working with power and hand tools
Experience, education, or training working with fire suppression systems is a strong asset
Comfortable working in underground mining operations
A valid drivers' license and clean drivers abstract
Prior customer service experience and great communication skills
Able to work with technology and mobile devices
Must be comfortable working in underground mining operations
The ideal candidate will live in or around the Rocanville area or be willing to travel. Physical Safety Requirements This is a physically demanding and safety-sensitive role involving various types of equipment and work environments.

As such the following are core requirements for this role:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, coupled with good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
Physically able to work in restricted workspaces, including using ladders and walkways on large equipment
Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing as well as criminal background checks
Comfortable wearing a supplied air respirator
