Description

The Night Health Care Aide shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.

Must have a Canadian work permit
Bilingual is an asset
Must be able to commute (3140 Gendron Road, Clarence Rockland, K0A 2A0)

Available shifts:

10:00 p.m. to 6 a.m., working every second weekend. Fulltime hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
Complete all assigned paperwork
Assists and attends to the care needs of the residents as required
Operates and cleans equipment, and furniture and cleans and maintains all areas related to residents as per work routines
Responsible for the cleaning of common areas and public facilities within the home
Assists in setting up the dining room for the following day's meal service
Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team
Observes and adhere to all policies and procedures, work standards, and safety regulations
Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner
Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, coworkers, and residents
Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
Other related duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

Previous experience in providing personal care
Preferred postsecondary education in related care fields of PSW/HCA/ DSW certification
Must be able to read and communicate effectively in French and English
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
Must be able to respond to emergency situations
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift and carry heavy items
