The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.


Job Description:


The Radio System Support Technician is responsible for delivering on MSI's Maintenance Agreements by coordinating with the client's local service providers in all maintenance activities and growing MSI's role in providing additional services for the customers.

Coordinate and lead day-to-day activities in meeting MSI's contractual commitments documented in the Maintenance Agreement with the customer contact with the customer pertaining to ASTRO P25 network

Create cases related to required work to main service levels on the Help desk management system of the customer and vendor

Ensure Service Level Agreement compliance with response/restoration time commitment

Deliver Emergency Service efforts and escalation procedures

Maintain Radio Management and provide logistics to customers as required

Work closely with Motorola Systems Engineers during upgrades, patching and preventative maintenance

Coordinate on site visits with third party vendors

Attend all mandatory Motorola training


Reporting:

Maintain accurate records and service history statistics

Review service information and quality reports generated by system service database

Provide monthly case reports to the customer

Communicate any equipment issues as they occur to the customer and escalate when necessary

Maintain database lists for client equipment information in Asset Management and Radio Management


Equipment and Repair:

Weekly prep of equipment for pickup/drop-off for repairs

Coordinate with third party support for equipment repairs

Inspect equipment before being returned to customer

Verify with the customer that restoration is complete and functioning

The work location is on the client's site within the Waterloo Region
The Radio System Support Technician MUST be located in the Waterloo region.
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers
Minimum 3 years of experience with Two-Way Radio Communications and/or Emergency Services

Basic Requirements


3+ years experience in one of the following: Electronics Technician, System Technologist, System Manager, or Field Service Experience with one or more of the following: Public Safety, Customer Support/Service, LMR, RF systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems or Networking equipment.
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
