Job Summary

  • The College of Pharmacy includes undergraduate and graduate programs with a mission to enhance health and wellness through pharmacy education, research and community service. Reporting to the Director, College of Pharmacy, the
    Student Affairs
    Advisor will
    share, under the direction of the Associate Director, Student Affairs_, _responsibility for managing undergraduate and graduate student recruitment, and student advising and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage student recruitment and retention activities to meet enrolment targets. Develop, plan, and carry out strategies for promotion of undergraduate and graduate programs. Work with internal colleagues and external marketing specialists as applicable. Advise potential applicants on admission policies.
  • Research program information and recruitment strategies to identify best practices. Analvze data and make recommendations e.g. student recruitment strategy effectiveness, success rates, and other relevant measures.
  • Carry out student advising for undergraduate and graduate students, and pharmacy residents experiencing academic difficulty or other issues impacting academic performance. Refer students to appropriate campus supports. Advise on University and College polices and regulations.
  • Manage students experiencing excess absences as referred by the Undergraduate Curriculum Administrator. Develop and administer program for early detection of students in academic difficulty.
  • Review, update and maintain existing policies, procedures and academic regulations. Support the Graduate Coordinator in work related to academic regulations.
  • Consult with College leaders and teammates on outstanding issues potentially requiring new/edits to policies, procedures and regulations. Prepare reports and recommendations on changes as well as prepare new policies/procedures/regulations for review and guide through approval process.

Note

  • The successful applicant will be required to report to work inperson on campus until the probationary period and required training is complete, after which they will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of inperson work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field plus approximately five years related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Relevant prior experience in an academic environment.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, presentation), collaboration and interpersonal skills both 1:1 and in group settings.
  • Strong time management, organization, attention to detail, and prioritizing skills.
