    Overview

    The chosen candidate will contribute to lean initiatives, design new equipment/processes, or enhance existing ones, conduct qualification testing, and develop/update documentation at our lean manufacturing facility.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify and resolve process equipment issues swiftly, proposing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
    • Create, adapt, and adjust CNC programs for new development projects and engineering modifications.
    • Train production operators on CNC machine operation, setup, safety, and maintenance.
    • Develop CNC fixturing, tooling, work instructions, and PM schedules related to CNC machines and other equipment.
    • Collaborate with various departments to ensure the production of high-quality parts.
    • Maintain and enhance the Preventative Maintenance Program continuously.
    • Coordinate prototyping of new products/parts from inception to completion using existing processes or external services.
    • Aid in selecting new processes/equipment and support capital funds submissions.
    • Support Production staff on engineering matters as needed.
    • Champion lean manufacturing initiatives.
    • Optimize manufacturing processes to cut costs, enhance sustainability, boost productivity, and elevate quality through innovative fixture/tool designs and technologies.
    • Uphold Quality Management System requirements.

    • Adhere to Health & Safety policies and report unsafe conditions promptly.

    Requirements

    • College Diploma or equivalent Engineering Technologist Level education.
    • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical/electro-mechanical maintenance/installation.
    • Familiarity with CNC Machines, Mastercam, and CAD/CAM.
    • Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
    • Strong competency in general office computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google App Suite).
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • 5 Essential Requirements for Engineering Technician
      1. Proficient in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and analytics.
      2. Understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool/jig and fixture design.
      3. Hands-on experience in machine troubleshooting, setup, and maintenance.
      4. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
      5. Superb organizational acumen.
