- Planning, Strategy and Operational Management (20%)
- Collaborate with the leadership team and other stakeholders as appropriate to help create and drive program strategy.
- Support the various operational requirements related to program management (i.e. scheduling; budgets; reporting; enrollment management; talent recruitment and onboarding; data analysis; managing KPI's; application of the collective agreement; committee membership; student conduct procedures; executing SAIT policy; etc).
- Program Excellence and Innovation (20%)
- Champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Lead new course/program development and execution.

- Minimum
- Prior experience in a post-secondary environment
- 5+ years of relevant leadership experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the culinary and hospitality industry
- Red Seal in cooking or baking
- Combination of relevant work experience and education may be considered
- Preferred
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with:
- A Master's degree or higher in related field
- Experience in the research space (scholarly/applied/culinary)
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary environment
- Leadership experience in one or more post-secondary environments
- Experience in curriculum and diploma/degree development

The Opportunity The School of Hospitality and Tourism (H&T) is hiring an Academic Chair, Culinary Programs . This position reports to the Associate Dean and champions our Culinary programs portfolio, which currently includes: a diploma in Baking and Pastry Arts; a diploma in Culinary Arts; a certificate in Butchery and Charcuterie Management; Cook Apprentice; and dual-credit programs with local schools and indigenous communities. In addition, we bring to life a variety of community-building events and activities that nurture student experience and learning outside of the classroom, including a decades-long history of supporting skills, competitions and study tours. The School of Hospitality and Tourism is actively exploring satellite campuses and international partnerships which may require travel for the successful candidate. Our school offers year-round student intakes, serving ~800 culinary students per year with world-class programs delivered by a team of over 40 world-class culinary faculty.
