JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:


  • Maintains BC Hydro's integrated Audio Visual (AV) system (including software and/or hardware
products and facilities). Plans, schedules and oversees deployment of new software releases,
configuration changes, break-fixes and hardware products into the operating environment.
Monitors and controls software and/or hardware changes to ensure changes adhere to
established products and BC Hydro procedures. Test point-to-point functionality of systems and
assess the impact of changes for performance and user ease of use is maintained.

  • Designs and oversees the implementation of new AV equipment and upgrades to the operating
environment to improve performance and efficiency levels. Reviews future project Scope of Work
and conducts testing to ensure completeness of installations and business requirements are met.

  • Provides technical leadership and guidance to project teams and Tier 1 and 2 support teams
providing the initial troubleshooting and inspections of user issues at BC Hydro facilities. Acts as
Tier 3 support to investigate and resolve complex issues escalated from Tier 1 and 2 support
teams. Contacts product vendors for troubleshooting assistance as required.

  • Provides technical advice on the development and implementation of corporate AV systems
standards and procedures to management and implementation project teams.

  • Provides technical onsite assistance for largescale conference rooms and auditorium planning
and future support and changes related to software and/or hardware within the system. Develops
training materials and conducts end user training as required.

  • Works with the Network Operations team to support the AV hardware installations requiring
static IP addressing and to troubleshoot related to the CISCO network environment that supports
the corporate network.

  • Monitors changes or updates to hardware/software (such as end of life notifications, upgrades or
- releases, support changes or discontinuation) that may pose business or cybersecurity risks to BC

  • Hydro and advises management of risks for their attention.
  • Maintains AV equipment inventory records to ensure completeness, currency and accuracy of
installation dates and warranty periods.- Keeps abreast of new advancements in AV hardware and technologies.

  • Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the
job


Qualifications:

***- Certification in Telecommunications and/or Electronics degree; and three (3) years of experience

in an audio-visual environment.- Completion of Microsoft accredited course(s) is preferred. CISCO certifications (CCNA or CCNP)

considered an asset.- Must hold a valid class five (5) driver's licence.
