Fuel Handling Mechanical Analyst to join our engineering team in
Mississauga, ON.


Your role within the team

  • Perform conceptual and detail design engineering work on Fuel Handling mechanical equipment and systems, and/or Fuel Handling process related D2O, oil hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Coordinating large scale projects of moderate technical and commercial complexity.
  • Prepare design documentation such as design requirements, design descriptions, design specifications, technical specifications, component specifications, test procedures and plans, commissioning procedures, registration design submissions packages, flow sheets, detail drawings, general arrangements and equipment layouts.
  • Perform activities related to machine design, and in support of manufacturing, assembly, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical and process controls systems.
  • Perform component sizing and selection, and designbased calculations in support of design.
  • Review design reports, analysis reports, calculations, documents and drawings in support of design verification.
  • Interface with other engineers' disciplines to obtain data and resolve issues relevant to design.
  • Conduct technical, conceptual and detail design meetings in front of peers, clients and suppliers.
  • Perform preorder and postorder engineering support including review of client requirements, review of applicable documents and drawings, review of codes and standards, perform cost estimating, proposal preparation, preparing and review of engineering quotation requests, technical evaluations and resolving design deviations.
  • Provide technical guidance to drafting staff as well as mentoring and oversight of junior engineers.

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University with a minimum 35 years of experience in machine, automation, equipment and/or tooling design, or 35 years of experience in the fluid power, oil hydraulic control and/or water process control industry.
  • Registered, or eligible to be registered, as Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
  • Understanding of mechanics of machines, mechanics of materials, material selection and fundamentals of machine component design.
  • Understanding of fluid mechanics and process system control design including open and closed loop oil hydraulic circuit design.
  • Knowledge of pressure boundary work including pressure vessel design, analysis, code classification, code class boundary, nondestructive examination and design registration is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section II, III, V, VIII and IX is an asset.
  • Knowledge of general requirements for pressureretaining systems and components in CANDU nuclear power plants CSA N285.0 code is an asset.
  • Knowledge of boiler, pressure vessel, and pressure piping CSA B51 code is an asset.
  • Knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing ASME Y14.5 standard is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Presentation skills and public speaking abilities is an asset.
  • CAD experience in Solid Edge or Solid Works is an asset.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a dynamic teamoriented environment.
  • Must be capable of working effectively in stressful environment and of maintaining a good working relationship with peers.
  • Must be capable to work under tight deadlines, on emergency situations and flexibility to travel when needed.
