Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team at Paloma Tacos & Tequila.

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes with precision, ensuring high-quality and consistent food presentation.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and measuring spices, following recipes and portion guidelines.
  • Cook and plate dishes according to recipe specifications, ensuring adherence to quality standards and presentation guidelines.
  • Operate various kitchen equipment, such as grills, fryers, ovens, and sauté stations, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate preparation of all menu items.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, including proper storage of ingredients, utensils, and equipment.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients, and maintaining appropriate temperature controls.
  • Assist in the development of new menu items, including contributing ideas and participating in tastings and evaluations.
  • Monitor ingredient inventory levels, inform the Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager of shortages, and assist in restocking as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of potentially hazardous materials and equipment.
  • Support and assist other kitchen staff in various tasks as needed.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment operation.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently produce high-quality dishes.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet fast-paced service demands.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP guidelines.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Culinary degree or certification is a plus but not required.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Salary:
$18.00-$21.00 per hour
