If so, we want to hear from you Join us as the Community Relations Manager and you'll be part of the Community and Indigenous Relations team supporting the Eagle Mountain-Woodfibre Gas Pipeline (EGP) Project.

This project involves adding 50 kilometres of new gas pipeline between Coquitlam and Squamish. We anticipate construction for the project will begin in late August with initial construction activities beginning in Squamish.


As a Community Relations Manager, you'll lead the strategic engagement with local governments, stakeholders, and community associations, to support building strong relationships and executing on FortisBC's vision to partner for progress.


In this role, you will:
Build relationships with elected officials, municipal staff, and business organizations through proactive engagement and timely resolution of issues.

Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive engagement plans and tactics to support the project and interests of local communities.

Determine strategies to minimize project-related impacts to the community.
Be a trusted face of FortisBC, and a known, collaborative, creative, problem-solver between FortisBC, and local stakeholders.
Brief senior management on issues, performance reporting, and provide recommendations.
Collaborate and provide mentorship to other members of the Community Relations team.
Implement project agreements to ensure that commitments are achieved.
Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team to influence project decisions that support the interests of the project and local communities


What it takes:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, communications or other related disciplines from a recognized program.
Minimum of 5 years of recent and related experience and demonstrated success in strategic consultation and engagement.
Ability to manage issue related conflicts and issue resolution capacity (negotiation skills).
Ability to meet firm deadlines with mínimal supervision.
Project management expertise and balancing competing priorities.
Comfortable delivering presentations and navigating challenging conversations.
Ability to assert interests with competing perspectives.
Exceptional organizational skills - manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and professional judgment skills
Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a panache for team-building
Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships representatives from levels of government
Demonstrated Indigenous Peoples cultural and business awareness, with the ability to collaborate effectively with community leaders to build lasting relationships What you need to know:
Position may require evening and weekend work.
Travel between Surrey, Coquitlam, and Squamish will be required.
