    Description

    Unit Summary

    Emergency Services provides acute care for both adults and children. The focus of Juravinski Hospital is on primary care and regional oncology.

    Position Summary

    As part of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse coordinates and assesses patient care, delivering nursing services in line with the job description and Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses in the Emergency Department.

    Qualifications

    • Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in good standing
    • Previous experience in the Emergency Department as a registered nurse (within 2 years) is preferred
    • Successful completion of the HHS Critical Practice orientation program is preferred
    • Current BCLS (basic cardiac life support) certification
    • Understanding of and commitment to applying principles of Elder Friendly Care
    • Ability to problem solve and apply critical thinking skills in a rapidly changing environment
    • Commitment to working as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team for optimal patient care
    • Commitment to providing an Excellent Patient Experience with each patient/family
    • Commitment to continuous learning within and outside the workplace, including ACLS, PEARS, TNCC, critical care certificate
    • Evidence of consistent attendance and punctuality

    As a condition of employment, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.
