Providing legal advice to senior management and frontline investigators on a broad variety of issues;
Teaching civil law to members of the police service;
Participating in various aspects of the police disciplinary process including administrative appeals;
Assisting in the development of police policy and training;
General risk management and/or
Conducting, or acting as instructing counsel on, a variety of legal matters including civil and other litigation.

Qualifications:

Must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
A minimum of five (5) years of complex civil and/or administrative law experience.
The ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The desire and ability to work on diverse and challenging legal matters.
As part of your prehire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
