    Lac La Ronge Indian Band is now accepting applications for the following Permanent Full-Time position based out of the La Ronge Band Office:

    ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – MEMBERSHIP OFFICE

    The Band Membership maintains an accurate statistical count of band members (on and off-reserve) and assists members with registering vital events: births, deaths, marriages, divorces, legal name changes, transfers or other changes to Indian Registry/Indigenous & Northern Affairs Canada (INAC).

    The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

  • General office work – typing, filing, use of computers and dealing with the public daily;
  • Set up Membership Committee meetings, take minutes;
  • Process Indian status certificates (treaty cards);
  • Assist parents with process of registering children for status;
  • Assist Band Members with assorted forms and applications;
  • Liaise closely with external agencies including INAC, Vital Statistics (Sask.), etc.;
  • Some traveling will be required to assist with population statistics, Treaty Days, etc.
  • The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent;
  • Certificate in Office Education or related training is preferred;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and communication skills;
  • Proven interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Punctual and reliable;
  • Must have valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle;
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality;
  • Previous experience in related field would be an asset;
  • Ability to speak Cree is an asset;
  • Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Driver's Abstract
