Operator at our Walker Emulsions Division Production Facility -
Burlington location.
OPERATOR
You may be a good fit as an Operator if you are organized, have situational awareness, and take special care to do a good job.
Your primary goal will be performing a variety of plant operations and quality control duties to assist in the effective and efficient operations of the plant while maintaining a focus on safety.
As an Operator, you will be- Operating process equipment including pumps, tanks, homogenizers, PLCs, and control panels to prepare batches of emulsions.
- Collecting product samples in accordance with quality control procedures.
- Recording and maintaining all process data while following specifications and quality process controls. You will make batch adjustments as necessary.
- Operating equipment such as forklifts and shunt trucks.
- You will be loading and offloading trucks and completing related customs documentation. Material handling will include totes, drums, and pails of raw and finished materials, ranging from raw wax and other bulk liquids.
- Providing routine inspections of machines and equipment. You will be troubleshooting, maintaining, and recommending repairs.
Qualifications:

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in industrial manufacturing.

Education: Minimum of high school graduation or equivalent. Post-Secondary education, specializing in manufacturing is an asset but not required.

License: A valid G Registration Ontario driver's license.

Equipment: Lift truck training an asset.

Physical requirements:Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy objects like raw material bags and hoses. Ability to occasionally kneel, reach, stoop, bend, and stretch.

Equipment:Ability to use heavy equipment such as loaders, trucks, and production machinery

Environment: Ability to work in plant environment with frequent exposure to dust, fumes, heat, etc. Work in a moderately noisy workplace.

Schedule: Flexibility to change work schedule or work additional hours as needed to meet customer demands and production schedule.
- Knowledge of WHMIS practices.
