    Description

    One Floral Group is a wholesale flower producer that provides tailored floral solutions to retail customers throughout North America and is one of the fastest growing producers of floral products.

    Our business has over five million square feet of growing and production space in more than six facilities in three different climate zones.

    We have the ability to grow and build a variety of products, including potted plants and planters, outdoor lawn and garden plants, and vegetable propagation in the best conditions.

    The company is seeking to hire a Facilities Manager for our Leamington, Ontario facilities. Under direction of the CEO, oversee the operations within facilities.

    This includes the leadership and growth of staff, as well as driving One Floral vision to ensure that all areas have the support they require to remain competitive and profitable.

    The Facilities Manager motivates staff and proactively initiates change and improvement, through research and the analysis of departmental requirements. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Agriculture or similar
    Minimum 10 years of experience in Greenhouse Operations, vegetable business preferable
    Demonstrated ability to effectively manage timelines to ensure delivery of objectives
    Demonstrated ability to lead and direct personnel, supervisors and administrative staff
    Demonstrated skills in relationship building and influencing to achieve results
    Strong organizational, planning and strategic execution skills
    Advanced MS Office and ERP Systems skills, experience with MS Navision would be an asset
    Direction, Leadership and Communication
    Manage and coordinate organizational and departmental operation strategies and activities.
    Assist with the development and implementation of organizational policies, procedures and attainment of operational goals.

    Confer with Managers/Supervisors to obtain data required for planning activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress and problems encountered.

    Give work direction, resolve problems, prepare schedules, and set deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.
    Prepare reports and records on department activities for management.
    Provide employee coaching, development and training.
    Conduct performance appraisals informally or formally as required to encourage a motivated workforce.
    Approve vacations where necessary to ensure departments possess the needed supervision/management.
    Encourage and support open communication with all departments/employees.
    Operation Management

    Become actively involved in helping our company achieve strategic goals and continuous improvement objectives as outlined in the Business Plan.

    Manage all aspects of Operations within the company.
    Follow and adhere to requirements of current customer quality and environmental management systems standards.
    Show work commitment by setting high standards of performance, pursue aggressive goals and work hard to achieve them.
    Read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, government regulations, customer requirements, and contracts.
    Negotiate contracts favourable to the organization.

    Productivity, Efficiency and Quality Control

    Ensure quality checks on product coming into and going out of your department/area meet requirements as outlined on product spec sheets.

    Monitor daily activities to determine opportunities for improvement in productivity, efficiency and quality.
    Use technical/functional expertise.
    Emphasize the need to deliver quality products and set high standards for quality.

    Organize cross-training of other departmental staff (knowledge of customer base, trend analysis, quality control and time management strategies).

    Review, communicate and ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures as required.
    Collaborate with other Managers/Supervisors or departments to ensure the smooth operational function and execution of marketing initiatives.

    Project an attitude of enthusiasm, embrace changes and look for opportunities to modify and adapt data entry procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

    Recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss.

    Follow and enforce Health and Safety policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and other relevant codes and standards.

    Conduct performance appraisals for workers' safety performance.
