Position Summary

The Corporate Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the procurement process, with a primary focus on vendor management, process improvement, and people management.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that the organization's procurement activities are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Experience with working with HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) and/or general contracting companies is considered an asset.

Role Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors.
Identify and assess potential new vendors and negotiate contracts.
Monitor vendor performance and implement strategies to enhance vendor accountability.
Resolve vendor disputes and issues in a timely and effective manner.
Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to drive efficiency and cost savings.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline procurement operations.
Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance and consistency.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align procurement processes with organizational goals.
Lead, mentor, and motivate the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.
Provide coaching and training to team members
Work with key stakeholders to identify sourcing opportunities and develop strategic sourcing plans.
Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends and supplier capabilities.
Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations and supplier collaboration.
Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring that spending remains within established limits.
Monitor and report on procurementrelated expenses and savings.
Ensure procurement activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
Identify and mitigate procurementrelated risks.
Establish and maintain a robust supplier risk assessment program.
Generate and analyze procurementrelated reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

Degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
Proven experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, vendor management, and strategic sourcing.
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a crossfunctional environment.
Certification in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPM) is a plus.
Experience with HVACR and/or construction is considered an asset.
