Position Overview

Student and Enrolment Services is currently seeking a Full-time Regular
Events & Engagement Coordinator.


The Events & Engagement Coordinator is full-time position that reports to the Manager, CCPD Operations and works in close collaboration with the CCPD team and campus partners.

The main responsibility is to plan and execute CCPD revenue and non-revenue generating major events that connect students to campus services and/or industry partners.

In addition, they will support the CCPD team by developing communications, which may include preparing newsletter content and promotional materials.

This position requires flexibility in hours during peak periods due to the cyclical nature of the CCPD requirements.

During off-peak periods, the Coordinator will collaborate with CCPD team members on event logistics while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of when and how to involve the MarCom team to guarantee adequate support is available for significant initiatives when necessary.


Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Provides coordination for event logistics, including but not limited to room/space bookings, catering, set-up by Third Party Event Company, banner installations, health, and safety requirements, etc
  • Oversees all aspects of event planning and management, including internal and external events along with communications and marketing
  • Collaborates with the Employer Relations Specialist to achieve the targets established for each event. This would involve coordinating efforts to plan, promote, and execute events that aligns with the CCPD overall objectives
  • Working collaboratively with the Employer Relations Specialist can help to ensure that events are successful in terms of attendance, engagement, and outcomes. This would involve identifying potential employers to invite to events, developing event schedules and agendas, creating promotional materials, and tracking and reporting event metrics
  • Collaborate with CCPD team members to achieve the overall objectives of careerfocused events, student leadership events, and orientations to create meaningful experiences that help students to achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate and plan with MarCom team to develop and implement the CCPD marketing and communications plan in consultation with both the Manager of CCPD Operations and Director of CCPD
  • Collaborate with the MarCom team to develop, implement, and report on annual social media strategy
  • Monitor Google analytics and social media analytics as part of ongoing assessment
  • Prepares and provides CCPD event info to MarCom team with regards to student and employer newsletters
  • Gathers and prepares content for monthly communications for students, staff, university partners and employers regarding services, workshops and events hosted through CCPD to be sent to MarCom team
  • Liaise with MarCom team on communication strategies which are complementary to the CCPD marketing plan
  • Creates, reviews and updates satisfaction surveys for all events to be sent after every event and provides reports to the team to review and implement
  • Review and update Elevate dashboard for students and employers with regards to various types of services and event promotions as required
  • Develop, review and update event registrations for both students and employers as required
  • Ensure all payments for services and events are received in a timely manner and informs

Qualifications / Requirements:


  • Diploma in Events Management or equivalent education and experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Events/project management experience
  • Social media management would be an asset
  • Aptitude for data management and analysis
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in MS Office
  • Knowledge of LiveWhale and Qualtrics would be an asset to manage events and surveys
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • High level interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent multitasking/time management skills, detailoriented
