This position is eligible to work remotely on a part-time basis.


Main Function:
Provide functional support and supervision of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Responsible to ensure the accuracy of data and guide CMMS users to utilize the system according to established procedures.


Characteristic Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Manager of LIS Technical Support Services.


  • Act as the functional expert for the CMMS. Develop end user training material and procedures manual. Research functional issues and develop solutions. Liaise with other functional experts to ensure system continuity and provide expertise on system upgrades.
  • In conjunction with the Manager, carry out project work in accordance with expectations of the Project Management Plan to deliver projects on time, on budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Track, document, and report on pertinent project information as defined by the Project Management Plan.
  • Analyze current business practices and research best-practice methodologies that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department.
  • Act as a point of contact for technology trouble shooting. Liaise with Information Technology on issues that require escalation.
  • Assist with technology support, including the setup and deployment of tablets for field crews.
  • Ensure the CMMS area is properly staffed to perform the function required. Hire, train, evaluate, and manage the job performance of said staff. Dispense discipline as required.
  • Responsible for the training of CGS staff in the operation of the CMMS.
  • Responsible for security access for end users of the CMMS.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of changes to the CMMS.
  • Provide detailed analysis and develop performance metrics to highlight and report on emerging trends.
  • Responsible for the documentation of financial business processes. Lead the development of business cases for CMMS updates, additions, or related acquisitions.
  • Provide records management to ensure all data is accurate, up to date, and readily available.
  • Respond to inquiries from CGS departments, area municipalities, and other government bodies regarding the CMMS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure data and reports comply with all established standards, regulations, and applicable legislation.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff on the use, operation, and input requirements of the CMMS.
  • Review and evaluate recommendations for revisions to/enhancements of the CMMS.
  • Liaise with various departments to communicate pertinent data and information.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:


Education and Training:


  • University degree in a related discipline (e.g., Business, Computer Science, etc.) from a recognized University with Canadian accreditation.
  • Additional education initiatives to update and expand competencies.

Experience:


  • Minimum of three (3) years of senior level experience in the management of large, unionized, and highly diversified public or private sector organizations, including two (2) years managing a similar function.
  • Experienced with a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Or

Education and Training:


  • College Diploma in a related discipline (e.g., Business, Computer Science, etc.) from a recognized Community College with Canadian accreditation.
  • Additional education initiatives to update and expand competencies.

Experience:


  • Minimum of five (5) years of senior level experience in the management of large, unionized, and highly diversified public or private sector organizations, including two (2) years managing a similar function.
  • Experienced with a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Knowledge Of:


  • Demonstrated expertise in asset and maintenance management.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft software such as Office and Excel.
  • Applicable legislation and related regulations.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize, work under pressure and to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated report and presentation skills.
  • Enterprise systems for work order management, GIS databases and Asset Management systems.
  • Highly developed analytical and problemsolving skills.
