This role will create a plan to measurably raise awareness, facilitate conversations; and review, refine and monitor our programs and practices.

The role will have the mandate to foster meaningful, lasting change and position World Vision Canada (WVC) as a leading employer in this area.

Duties and responsibilities

Achieving Change (Planning, Implementation and Change Management)

  • Provide guidance to leaders on IDEA to ensure consistency in awareness and action plans.
  • Measure the effectiveness of new and existing policies and strategies and adjust the approach as needed.
  • Enhance culture by ensuring a commitment to IDEA is integrated into business processes and programs, including employee hiring, development, training, retention, promotions, compensation, etc.
Communicating and Educating (Training & Facilitation)

  • Identify the learning needs of various stakeholders to increase awareness, effectiveness and impact of team members and people leaders.

  • Coordinate all IDEA communications to be a meaningful part of the larger internal communication plan for the organization, including engaging leaders and those with lived experience to lend their voice, experience, and advice to the effort.
  • Work with internal communication teams to draft and share messages to various internal and external channels such as our social media, internal and external website, as appropriate to build our employer brand in an authentic way.

  • The most important factor in this role is to have some foundational experience in IDEA work but not necessarily at the corporate level. The ability to adapt and diagnose quickly (an action orientation) while building strong relationships is equally important. Consideration will be given to areas of expertise and background that bring a transferable skill set, understanding of the issues, proven ability to create lasting change, and related knowledge.
