Summary of Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Organizational Performance and Privacy Protection, you will be responsible for all of the operational activities related to access to information, privacy protection, medical transcription and clinical archives.

You will ensure the availability and integrity of personal health information, ensure the protection of this information and its disclosure in a timely fashion to, among other things, ensure continuity of care, provide management services for forensic cases, in accordance with standards and objectives of quality, performance and security of the institution and in compliance with laws and regulations.

You will also be responsible for processing requests for access, correction, blocking, complaints of non-conformity and privacy breaches.
You will plan, control and coordinate department activities. You will conduct audits, draft required policies and procedures, develop necessary tools, prepare training modules and manage investigations of privacy breaches

You will be called on to work in constant collaboration with the hospital's medical staff, professionals and managers as well as with counterparts in the region's hospitals.

Profile and Experience

  • College diploma in Medical Archives or a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences
  • Member in good standing of the CAPAPA (Canadian Association of Professional Access and Privacy Administrators) or equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in a position related to the disclosure and protection of health information and the management of forensic cases in the health sector.
  • Knowledge of data collection technologies and processes related to electronic health records
