Summary
Collins Aerospace is looking for a
Payroll Supervisor who will report to the Associate Director, Finance. You will be responsible for the administration of bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1000 employees in multiple locations.


Your main responsibility is to ensure the pay run is complete and accurate in terms of employee hours, changes, approvals, overtime, shift premium, voluntary, and statutory deductions and taxable benefits in accordance with company policies and procedures and legislative requirements.

In addition, you will support in preparing accruals, postings to SAP and all payroll related account reconciliations.


This position works onsite in the Oakville facility.

May be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Perform computation, documentation and processing of payroll wages and deductions for employees.
  • Ensure management and legislative compliance for all payroll remittances, reporting documents, audits and internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Daily supervision and direction for a payroll administrator.
  • Management, support, and reporting for yearly audits by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
  • Closely support both finance and HR departments with any and all matters pertinent to payroll processes.
  • Ensure that all accounting functions related to SAP payroll (Globalview), payroll financials (SAP FICO), reconciliation of accounts, pension and government remittance are managed appropriately.
  • Responsible for the overall annual management and reconciliation of employee T4 slips.
  • Act as liaison between payroll, HR and IT to ensure understanding and implementation of payroll system requirements and revisions.
  • Post payroll data and prepare related reports, biweekly, monthly and yearly.
  • Prepare statutory government reporting (ex. WSIB and EHT) and ensure we comply with laws and meet all deadlines.
  • Support requests from Statistics Canada or corporate office as required.
  • Assist department on policies and procedural changes and subsequent communications.
  • Resolve and respond to employee Autotime and payroll related questions.
  • Liaise with HR and Accounts Payable to ensure employee monetary issues are dealt with effectively.
  • Manage the timekeeping system (Workforce Autotime) in a lead role for Landing Gear Plant in Canada
  • Produce standard work, communications and training for employees and supervisors, as well as implement enhancements and testing as needed.
  • Monthly account reconciliations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:


  • Typically requires University Degree in Business/Accounting or related degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in full cycle payroll.
  • ERP experience (SAP and Workday preferred).
  • Payroll systems experience, (ADP Globalview preferred).
  • Supervisory experience in the most recent 3 years.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge and experience of local payroll tax policies and practices.
  • Manufacturing industry experience helpful.
  • Implementation of upgrades (software, payroll, etc.) experience.
  • Member of National Payroll Institute
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner
  • PCP designation
