Our reputable Ottawa-based client has an immediate requirement for

System Test Specialists

Role and Responsibilities:

Work closely with developers working in an Agile software development environment.
Raise and triage defects, and participate in defect management activities.
Ensuring high quality and accuracy are maintained through to software release.
Ensuring project activities are conducted promptly and following established processes.
Drafting and/or validating test plans, test cases, and test scripts as required for operational validation.
Execution of manual and automated testing.
Write, and update test plans, cases, and scripts that are repeatable and reusable.
Comparing test findings and results to business requirements and methods and procedures.
Support/Execute software certification activities.
Support deployment of software and operational systems.

Education and Qualifications:

Degree from a recognized university or community college with acceptable specialization in computer, electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or information systems.
Extensive experience in requirement analysis.
Knowledge of the Windows operating system. Knowledge of the LINUX operating system is an asset.
Solid knowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and troubleshooting (Agile, SAFe, DevOps, Waterfall).
Experience and knowledge in security testing techniques and tools.
Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks such as Robot Framework and Test Complete is an asset.
Use of test management tools (such as IBM Jazz) for managing test artifacts, defect management, and software configuration management.
Develops effective and positive interpersonal relationships through respect for others, fairness, tact, persuasiveness, effective expression, and open communication.
Effective English language is written and verbal communication skills.
ISTQB or CSTE certification is an asset.
SAFe certification is an asset.
Selfsufficient, highly motivated, resourceful individual.
