Seeking an industrial underground storm and wastewater skilled labourer to carry out the following dutiesDuties
- Manual labour
- Concrete demolition, patching, repair and forming
- Working at heights and within confined spaces in sewers, underground tunnels, wastewater basins and storm drains.
- Upgrade and maintain storm and wastewater utilities
- Routine storm and wastewater maintenance
- Sewer cleaning
- Blockage and infrastructure investigations
- Infrastructure repair/replacement
- Exposure to rapid water flow and live waste
Experience and Training
- Safety training including CSTS 2020, WHMIS, H2S, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry/Monitoring/Rescue, Mask Fit Test, Rigging and Slinging, Ground Disturbance
- General knowledge of underground utility, septic systems, sewage transfer, vacuum truck work considered an asset
- Carpentry experience/designation considered an asset
- Ability to read blueprints is considered an asset
- Mechanical background considered an asset
Requirements:
- Must be able to enter into a 24 inch manhole
- Working in a challenging environment on a daily basis
- Physically fit
- Attention to detail and situational awareness
- Work safely and maintain a safe worksite for yourself and others
- Work well with others and able to take direction from the supervisor
- Strong work ethic and problem solving skills
- Valid Driver's License with no major convictions.
- Must be able to pass a preemployment drug and alcohol test which include legal and illegal drugs and medications.
- Must be able to produce a clear criminal background check.
- Must be up to date on vaccination for: Hepatitis B, dTap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis).
Pay:
$20.00-$31.00 per hour
