Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS) is currently seeking a qualified Full-Time Permanent Site Program Coordinator, to provide support at the Youth Support Centre(YSC).

YESS is a not-for-profit agency working with youth facing difficult realities. Based in Edmonton, our Youth Support Centre provides immediate and low-barrier 24/7 sleep support and individualized wrap-around supports for young people aged


We work collaboratively within a network of care focused on the prevention of youth homelessness by providing youth with the necessary supports to stabilize their housing, improve their wellbeing, build life skills, connect with community, and avoid re-entry into homelessness.

What You Will Do


The Site Program Coordinator is responsible for creating a welcoming and organized environment at the Youth Support Centre by empowering and supporting our youth to access internal and external facilitated programming in line with YESS core values.

They are also responsible for connecting all persons accessing the Youth Support Centre to the proper program or resource upon first contact and documenting purpose of access.

The Site Program Coordinator supports the Manager of Quality Assurance and Support Services with data collection, data verification, and data reporting

Monday-Friday


Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm

Responsibilities Include:


Welcoming youth, program partners, volunteers and other guests to the Youth Support Center and connect to applicable program or service.

General administrative duties and support at the YSC Site including answering telephone calls and handling basic inquires; collaborating with various members of Youth Support team and maintain effective scheduling processes
Develop, plan, schedule, implement and evaluate programming for youth
Provide leadership and guidance to staff, volunteers and community partners who are delivering programs to youth

In collaboration with the Medical Program Coordinator, create and communicate YSC programs and services calendar and schedule to persons served, staff, and YAC Partners as applicable.

Establish positive relationships with persons served and other YSC Staff member to support connecting youth with relevant, accessible, and culturally appropriate programming and services as indicated in the youth's Holistic Assessment and Case Plan/Transition Plan

Establish and maintain relationships with Youth Agency Coalition Partners and external agencies and coordinate offered services and programming opportunities including transportation of youth to services and programming offered within the great Edmonton Area using YESS supplied vehicle.

Coordinate programs and outings internally with YESS staff, ensure all effected parties are aware of any impacts to programs

Keeping track of youth presence in programs; tracking access rates for YESS resources; reviewing documentation;
Supporting the Manager of Quality Assurance with reporting and documentation as needed


Additionally, you will provide a professional level of service to donors, promote the agency in a positive manner to the outside community and share information, communicate, and collaborate with other YESS staff.

What You Bring

A certificate, diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or other related Human Services is mandatory
A minimum of two-five years' experience in the human services field and/or working with youth facing difficult realities in a programming/facilitation capacity
A minimum of one year of experience in administration/coordination/scheduling in an office setting
Proficient in Microsoft 36- Excel, Word, Teams
Knowledge of the values, beliefs, and practices of Aboriginal and other cultural and diverse groups
Strong scheduling and time management competencies is necessary, must be a highly organized individual
Previous experience working with ETO is considered an asset
Experience using Bizconnect or intercom phones is considered an asset

Prerequisites

Training in first aid, and/or non-violent crisis intervention
Training in suicide intervention and harm reduction
Trauma - Informed Care Training
Clear Police clearance (CRIM) and a Child and Youth Intervention (CYIM) checks, both obtained within the last six months
Valid driver's license and driver's abstract,
Proof of vehicle insurance (at least $1 million third party liability)
Must be comfortable and competent in driving a large 15 passenger van
