Overview of Position:
Reporting to the Controller, the

Accounts Receivable Specialist:

is responsible for accounting duties, including full cycle accounts receivable, bank book transactions, some journal entries, and related financial reporting.

A focus on continuous improvement and the ability to identify and recommend efficient solutions in relation to current processes is an integral part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for preparing monthly AR statements for customers.
Prepare weekly AR reports for management
Prepare bank deposits
Maintain general administration such as filing, and ensuring address changes and returned mail is addressed
Identify and report on key financial and operational performance indicators monthly.
Support management with trade spends, including outstanding customer deductions.
Work with management to develop and maintain accounting procedures related to AR functions; provide support on yearend financial audit and any other review or audit, such as HST, etc.
Ad hoc projects and duties as directed by management.

Qualifications:

Postsecondary education with a focus on Accounting or Finance
Minimum 3 years of AR experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Canadian Food Retail Industry experience is a strong asset
Exceptional time management and organizational skills, selfstarter with a high level of initiative
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professional phone manner
Strong understanding of business processes, experienced ERP system user
Strong computer skills, MS Office Excel and Outlook
