The Role
Reporting to the Inventory Control Manger, the Purchasing Assistant is responsible for ordering products/merchandise for the Company.

This person will also ensure that pricing, ordering, and obtaining an ETA for Special Order products is completed in a timely manner.

What you will be doing

Maintain a working knowledge of all product lines.
Create, verify, and maintain documentation for all purchase orders
Liaise with Suppliers and the Supplier Sales Representatives.
Be familiar with and maintain ongoing relationships with product distributors.
Maintain current pricing list/books and update as required.
Ensure that all product back orders are investigated and followed through on
Data entry of purchase orders, updating confirmation dates.

To be successful in this role, you ideally have

Previous purchasing experience an asset.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work well with in a team environment.
Moderate computer skills.
Ability to work well with deadlines.
