- The City of North Vancouver is looking for a temporary fulltime Payroll Specialist to join their team for approximately eighteen (18) months.
Responsibilities - In this position you will work within the Payroll team, providing assistance in the management of the City's payroll system, including identifying, analyzing and correcting time and pay related issues. You will also recommend solutions and business process improvements, participating in the testing of system functionalities, verifying accuracy of payroll results in accordance with bargaining rules, and reconciling and processing third party remittances.
Requirements:
- You will have strong analytical skills and a keen interest in payroll systems. You will have thorough independent judgement and action in planning and organizing the work to meet deadline requirements and resolving operational problems of a technical nature. Considerable knowledge of the regulations, laws, rules and agreement provisions applicable to payroll operations, including employee benefits and entitlements. Completion of Grade 12 including or supplemented by the completion of the Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) and intermediate level accounting courses, plus considerable related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Hours of Work
- The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each threeweek scheduling cycle.
Additional Information - For temporary fulltime positions of eight (8) months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position.
