- Overall accountability for the day to day operations of the pharmacy departments at various independent banner locations.
- Work with the Pharmacy Managers to implement operational procedures to ensure optimal patient care, efficiencies and regulatory requirements are met.
- Assist in training on billing and pharmacy software, predominately Kroll
- Problem solve and troubleshoot to completion any issues that come up on a day to day basis, this may involve working in a technical verification capacity as needed.
- Recommend, implement, and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process, and best practices.
- Collaborate with front store and other internal groups to support client care.
- Provide effective leadership around managing and implementing change and consistently meet or exceed performance objectives.
- Ability to delegate responsibility and create a culture of teamwork, to promote continuous improvement and open communication where all employees become more engaged.
- Positively communicate business processes, vision and strategy to all employees and be seen and act as a leader.
- Support conducting annual performance appraisals and wage reviews in consultation with the management team.
- Assist managers to determine staff requirements and assist in hiring for all roles
- Ensure staff understand and adhere to company policies and, if necessary, take appropriate action for any violations.
- Active Nova Scotia Pharmacy technician license in good standing
- Previous Management experience within operations
- Pharmacy automation experience, specifically PacMed/VBM is a definite asset with extensive automation throughout our group and multiple central fill locations.
- Kroll experience is required
- Exceptional interpersonal & leadership skills, including experience building, developing and motivating high quality teams
- Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity; ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment
- Strong relationship building capabilities and capacity to work in a fast paced, multiple project environment
- Flexibility regarding availability in overall work schedule as issues are dealt with on an ongoing basis as they come up
- Ability to travel to all Atlantic Canada locations
