    CanCap is a national financial services company with multiple verticals across automotive, consumer, and merchant lending portfolios. We manage the entire lifecycle of the finance receivable from credit adjudication through to contract administration, customer service, default management and post charge-off recoveries. CanCap works with Automobile Dealer Partners to help clients finance the purchase of new and used vehicles.

    What your day and week could look like

    The ideal candidate is a software development enthusiast who pays attention to the software architecture and its implementation, using best practices in the industry and applying them in the code and documentation.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Develop cloud-based services to support critical business functions.
    • Drive and work on architecture design, execute and deliver development results.
    • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
    • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
    • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
    • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
    • 5 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

    Nice to have:

    • Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical fields.
    • 5 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, and/or debugging.
    • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test developing.
