Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries is a not-for-profit organization that has been caring for families in the GTA since 1826.

We operate ten cemeteries, nine funeral centres and four cremation centres, all serving the distinct needs of the local communities where they are located.

We are looking for a
Permanent Part-Time Cremation Centre Coordinator to join our team.

  • Receive human remains for cremation from funeral homes and transfer services
  • Ensure that all required documents and records are received and completed correctly
  • Perform cremations, including witnessing, and processing of remains following corporate policies and procedures
  • Create and maintain records and files in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Maintain the Cremation Centre, equipment and associated public spaces as per regular schedule
  • Complete cremation and emissions control equipment training
  • Obtain the Ontario Association of Cemeteries Certificate for Cremation

Hours/Days of Work:


  • Every Saturday at Meadowvale
  • Every Sunday & Monday at Elgin Mills
  • 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • This applicant may also be required to work at Thornton and Mount Pleasant Cremation Centres as required

Qualifications:


  • Commitment to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated professional work ethic
  • Ability to perform physical activities associated with this position
  • Experience with or a willingness to undertake basic mechanical tasks as part of routine maintenance and trouble shooting
  • Strong computer skills
  • OACFP Cremation Certification will be considered an asset
