Job Overview:

Reporting to the Corporate Director of Quality Assurance and Food Safety, the QA Supervisor oversees all activities of the Quality Department.

This includes managing and overseeing food safety compliance, leading government and third-party audits and inspections, managing and overseeing the HACCP Program, and SQF system.

Helps promote quality culture through leadership, ownership, and accountability.

Responsibilities:

Establishes Quality Assurance Programs for the plant and provides the operations team with support to update these programs. Maintains HACCP Program including reassessment, and SQF Certification
Oversee training program for Manufacturing employees, ensuring training records are maintained and current with qualifications required for their positions. Training requirements for staff members are to be reviewed annually. Training plans are to be established for new employees or when an employee changes their job position.
Leads and/or participates in internal and thirdparty inspections and audits. Serve as the primary SQF Practitioner. Facilitates followup and implementation of audit results, nonconformances, and recommendations ensuring implementation.
Perform daily Pre op inspection (Including sanitation review) and document any NCssend report.
Inspection of all production Line
Review finished goods production reports & Quality Control Verification reports
Review receiving composite samples & records upon receiving by receiving QA
Review receiving packaging film, pouches or labels by receiving QA
Review of Rail car receiving documents,collecting composite sample and Analysis
Review reports of Pest activity in the facility, generate Excel file regarding recommendations provided on report and communicate with key facility members (Weekly)
Investigation of all complaint of pulse plant and related followups
Review Allergen management record maintained by floor QC
Review Organic management record maintained by floor QC
Providing resolutions for any deviation found in daily production activities.
Review Hold & Release, Treatments (CO2, Fumigation, Freezing) & Seed Cleaner logs
Update Hold & Release, Treatments (CO2, Fumigation, Freezing) & Seed Cleaner logs
Provide COAs to customers
Provide onground support to floor QC, receiving QA and/or canning QA
Preparation of SOP/Work instructions
Sample preparation for Customer
Create and update product specifications
Knowledgeable in food labeling requirements
Investigate customer complaints and oversees the implementation of corrective actions
Ensures the quality of products at every stage of operations and recommends required changes to comply with standards.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Food Science and Technology or a related field
Proven people management skills
Knowledge of computers (Word, Excel) is required
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Problemsolving skills
HACCP training
Internal Auditing experience
Experience managing SQF programs preferred
Minimum 5 years experience of related industry experience
Must be able to demonstrate competency in assessing food safety risk
