Job Description:

Reporting to the Associate Director, International Operations, the incumbent is responsible for the ongoing development, delivery, and improvement of academic (excluding programs delivered by the Public College Private Partnership) programs of study delivered independently or in collaboration with Algonquin's academic schools


More specifically:


The incumbent ensures that educational programming and operations meets the needs of students and partners and adheres to institutional and Ministry policy requirements and quality standards.

The incumbent is responsible for the coordinating Program Delivery Quality Review International Education Centre programs of study onshore and offshore delivered independently or in collaboration with Algonquin's academic schools.

The incumbent is responsible for audits confirming Algonquin College meets Ontario Standards of Practice for International Education.


The incumbent ensures Algonquin College courses and programs of study delivered through the International Education Centre (IEC) are delivered within the academic policy framework of Algonquin College.

The incumbent supervises the curriculum repackaging process, preparation of program monographs, provision of course learning materials and reading lists to the partner ongoing, activity loading and course loading, scheduling and registration, progression, exemption, annual curriculum review, grade entry and graduate validation and site visits, ensuring its related processes are completed as per established timelines and policies.


The incumbent coordinates, develops and monitors international academic pathways and private language school pathways, ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation of both pathway partners and received students, recommending remediation or cancellation of international and private language school pathway partners deemed incongruous.


  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops, maintains and ensures consistency of the projects and partnerships programs and courses of study, ensuring established processes and procedures are complete and in line with the College Academic policies;-
  • Working in concert with Academic Development, Faculties/Schools, the Registrar and external stakeholders coordinates the quality assurance processes, including the College Quality Assurance Audit Process (CQAAP) for programs delivered offshore and the Standards of Practice for International Education audits, for services delivered by the IEC, excluding the Public College Private Partnership (PCPP) ;-
  • Working in concert with Academic Development and external stakeholders 10%responds to quality assurance deadlines set by Academic Development and implements recommendations at both the program and organizational level, in alignment with the Partnership Quality Assurance Framework;-
  • Working in concert with Academic Development, the Registrar, International Marketing and Recruitment, Schools/Faculties and external stakeholders, oversees the creation/maintenance of articulation agreements and other pathways with international institutions and Canadian private language schools;-
  • Manages academic matters for short-term programs of study and study abroad initiatives;-
  • The incumbent sets and manages the performance objectives and results of part-time and full-time program support staff, and contract staff when applicable. Provides technical and functional guidance, training and support for the onboarding of new staff. The incumbent is responsible for the identification and hiring of staff to support the growth of the International Education Centre's programs;-
  • Other Duties as assigned
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Masters degree required, with a degree in Education preferred;
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in increasingly responsible roles;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct management experience in postsecondary education or corporate training milieu. Experience within a large, unionized environment is an asset;
  • Experience in a Higher Education institution in a high demand client service environment;
  • Experience in a culturally diverse environment and working knowledge of the educational systems in overseas countries;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices;
  • Superior oral and written communication skill;
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, including managing time, establishing priorities, distributing responsibilities, identifying and mitigating risks, and meeting milestones and deliverables;
  • Experience coordinating multiple and diverse activitie
