Home Hardware is looking for anAutomation Technician to join our team on a one-year term. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of the automated material handling equipment.

What you'll do:
- Material handling equipment will include Dematic shuttles, and shuttle lifts, goods to persons stations, decant stations, eComm put wall/pack stations, live rollers, belts and conveyor systems, as well various mechanical and pneumatic equipment.
- Identify and perform preventative maintenance on all material handling equipment, including ensuring the proper documentation and procedures are followed.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and components as well as perform regular system testing to ensure equipment is performing within specifications.
- Willing to operate scissor lift, forklifts, chain hoist, slings etc. (training will be provided).
- Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
What we're looking for:
- College diploma in Industrial Mechanics, Electromechanical or related field; or vocational with related postsecondary courses but must include PLC training.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience troubleshooting automated material handling systems with PLC and HMI equipment, low voltage AC/DC controls and communications systems as well as other material handling equipment. Previous experience with Allen Bradley and Siemen PLC control platforms would be an asset.
- Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Manhattan System, and Maintenance Management Software would be an asset.
- Able to troubleshoot mechanical issues proficiently including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Background in mechanical and pneumatics is an asset. Ability to interpret blueprint and electrical schematics.
- Prior experience with preventative maintenance and equipment testing to ensure optimal operational capacity and to ensure equipment is operating within factory specs.
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team, with ability to recognize and source other resources as needed to resolve issues in time sensitive manner.
- Able to work well under pressure and dedication to work through all issues to resolution.
