Who We Are
Established in 2006, the School for International Studies offers interdisciplinary research and teaching on international affairs.

Drawing from the disciplines of Economics, Comparative Politics and International Relations, History, Sociology, and Anthropology, the School is interested in the interconnected areas of peace and security; international development; human rights and international law; and governance and civil society.


About the Role


Reporting to the Manager, International Studies, and supervised by the Manager, International Studies, and the Directors of the David Lam and the Comparative Muslim Studies Centres, the Coordinator, Communications and Events develops, implements, and maintains the communications profile of the International Studies, David Lam Centre, and Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies units through print, web, electronic, and other media.

The incumbent works collaboratively with faculty, staff, programs, research centers, and institutes to conceive, develop, and distribute communications highlighting the achievements of faculty, students, alumni, and staff.

The incumbent conceptualizes and organizes events and conferences that help with recruiting new students, to raise the public profile and support the objectives of the International Studies, David Lam Centre, and Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies units.

The incumbent works in cooperation with University Communications and FASS to ensure consistency in identifying and communicating key messages and engaging relevant audiences with regular communication updates.

The incumbent initiates contact and builds relationships with the International Studies, David Lam Centre, and Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies units' alumni.
