- Develop and implement an effective strategy for Indigenous relations with the government and industry to support the Indigenous agricultural and food industry.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior executives on Indigenous policy formulation.
- Liaise with FAC employees on external Indigenous relations and stakeholder issues.
- Update and implement the Indigenous relations strategy and the Action Plan for Indigenous Reconciliation at FAC, supporting the production of annual progress reports.
- Work within FAC and with stakeholders to create innovative models for Indigenous agricultural and food industry projects and underrepresented groups to access capital.
- Support the National Circle for Indigenous Agriculture and Food by building networks within FAC and the industry and leveraging them to support reconciliation, business development, and capacity building.
- In partnership with the Government Relations team, handle client issues, including addressing inquiries, resolving client complaints, and responding to ministerial office inquiries.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and a strong desire to help others succeed.
- Strong communication skills and experience providing advice to senior executives.
- Team spirit and collaboration, with the ability to build relationships.
- Critical thinking, good judgment, and strong decision-making skills.
- Proven influencing ability and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Public Administration, with at least eight years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Functional expertise in Indigenous policy issues and government, parliamentary, and legislative procedures and processes.
- In-depth knowledge of Indigenous policies, laws, stakeholders, and history.
- Thorough understanding of the agricultural industry.
