Student and New Grad Opportunities


Our student development opportunities include work terms and co-op programs - all designed to give your career a head start.

Work terms are typically four or eight months in length and can be counted towards an accredited co-op program with your university.

Our program is also open to new grads who have graduated in the past year.


Team & Position Overview


FinDev Canada is seeking a self-motivated and passionate Student to support the Corporate Affairs and Operations Team, and who aspires to be a part of a dynamic team responsible for operational efficiency and driving robust governance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented and client-focused team player to contribute to development through the private sector across emerging markets and developing economies.


Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative services to teams including, but not limited to handling correspondence, managing workflows, routing information, preparing documents, processing inquiries and spreadsheet management
  • Coordinates and administers team activities and events: logistics, arranging relevant materials and technology, recording minutes and action items
  • Supports strategic initiatives by conducting research, generating reports, scheduling meetings, building presentations, and other tasks as required by the team
  • Assists with ongoing project work conducted by the team. i.e., assistance with facilities planning and management, community investment event planning, assistance with project work related to creating a more accessible workplace
  • Contract management. Eg, processing invoices for payments, support creation of purchase requisitions, managing language training and translation contracts
  • Manages corporate information subscriptions
  • Liaises with Export Development Canada (EDC) to collect data on services provided
  • Generates monthly reports
  • Supports the Health and Safety Committee. i.e., minute taking, organizing meetings, followup on activities
  • Develops process maps and other administrative procedures related to FinDev Canada operations
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate degree program
  • Bilingual with good writing skills and oral and written command of both official languages (English and French)
  • Proactive and motivated selfstarter with demonstrated communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Focused on continuous improvement and strong problemsolving skills
  • Available to work in Ottawa or Montreal
