What you will be doing as an Account Manager:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with management personnel of major customers and other personnel in various functional departments, such as: engineering, purchasing, maintenance, production, and expediting
  • Developing and implementing strategies at key accounts to promote partnering. Taking full responsibility for management of designated accounts, including recommendations for both short
- and long-term strategies (i.e. Account Plans)

  • Determining sales call frequency for all assigned customers and make personal sales calls
  • Training customer personnel in the use of and advantages inherent in products, services and solutions offered by Lakeside
  • Promoting all new products and product improvements
  • Developing Differentiation and Value Selling Skills
  • Developing Quantified Business Results for major customers
  • Discussing and developing strategies with Sales Manager for all competitive bids
  • Provide direction to inside sales staff with respect to structure and content of quotations
  • Gaining and maintaining detailed knowledge of competitors' offerings and sales organizations
  • Keeping abreast of and advising competitive market information such as new products, pricing strategies and market directions
  • Entertaining key customer personnel to strengthen relationships
  • Providing a leadership role, internally and externally
  • Promoting a team approach within Lakeside
  • Providing a premier level of customer service
  • Handling all customer complaints immediately
  • Responding immediately to warranty claims and making recommendations for resolution
  • Assisting the Finance team in the collection of overdue accounts
  • Preparing a yearly forecast of sales volume for assigned territory and making recommendations for increasing sales and profit
  • Participating in trade shows

Knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • University degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Two to Seven (27) years' experience in an outside sales related role with proven account management success
  • Two to Seven (27) years' experience in technical sales with an understanding of process control equipment
  • Knowledge of process control and instrumentation products
  • Must be customer oriented
  • Must have knowledge of account management concepts
  • Strategic thinking ability
  • Thoroughness
  • Results oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Personal credibility
