***:The Accounts Payable Clerk performs accounting and clerical tasks for the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions, ensuring invoices are paid on time and operates with company financial best practices.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Scan and input high volumes of purchase orders and invoices
  • Route invoices to the appropriate reviewers for approval
  • Build and maintain good relationships with Project Managers, Team Members, and Vendors
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Prepare vouchers listing invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts and coding per accounting policies and procedures
  • Reports GST by calculating requirements on paid invoices
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum 3 years Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a construction and/or manufacturing environment
  • A Degree or Diploma in Accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to handle large volumes of data input with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organized with the ability to multitask
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; Working knowledge of Sage 300/Timberline is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent work ethic and positive attitude
