Service Technician will report to the Client Services Manager, and will execute projects geared towards client satisfaction.
This is a demanding role which entails working year-round indoors/outdoors in all types of weather conditions, performing various tasks, and co-managing various projects that involve light/ moderate/heavy industrial work.
In this role, you will be expected to support one or more of the following projects as required:- Install & operate commercial pool automation equipment, industrial tools & industrial equipment effectively & safely.
- Diagnose and repair Class A, B, C bodies of water
- Ability to program automation systems from inception to completion
- Seasonal openings and closing of multiple pools throughout GTA including installation of pool covers (coordinating and drilling of anchor locations etc.)
- Assist in successful project and restoration management
- Assume role of site supervisor on major projects when so directed by management.
- Installation of pumps, filters, salt systems, heaters, UV systems, automation systems
- Potential to work more than the fiveday work week (especially during department blackout periods) long days expected
- Delivery of chemicals, supplies and equipment as directed
- Training provided & opportunities for advancement
- Successfully complete CPO (Certified Pool Operators) Course within the first two years of employment. Must also be certified as a PMT (Preventative maintenance Technician)
Required Competencies:
- Canadian Citizen and/or possess applicable Work Visa & S.I.N. card
Mechanically inclined with hands-on repair or service experience:
100% clean G Level driver's abstract.
Aged 25+ for insurance purposes.
- Physically fit and able to handle heavy industrial work (ability to lift minimum 75lbs)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication and listening skills (able to execute direct instructions)
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills, and attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptable, and able to champion a wide range of responsibilities
- A dependable & reliable team player, who can also work efficiently independently
- Ability to crisis manage, and problem solve effectively
- Able to take initiative and follow tasks through to completion with mínimal supervision]
- Intermediate knowledge of various pool automation systems
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings an asset, but not required
- Confident driving in city of Toronto traffic and travelling out of town
- Basic understanding of Ontario Health Code and Building Code
- Bondable
- Required to be available to work more than the standard fiveday work week and more than the standard 9 hour work day during peak season (April through to end of November)
- Electrical experience will be an asset, but not required
- AFO, verifiable swimming pool/spa experience will be considered an asset.
