**Educational Assistant D - Deaf and Hard of Hearing

American Sign Language Level 2.0 or higher is required.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

assists in reinforcement of American Sign Language (ASL) skills

- provides assistance and support to students within the integrated classroom and resource room settings (e.g. clarifies verbal instructions, checks comprehension of class information, reviews and reinforces concepts)
- assists in implementing programming to individual or small groups of children under the direction of theteacher of the deaf, classroom teacher, speech/language pathologist or others (includes work on IEP goals)
- maintains detailed records of student progress and behaviour
- checks and troubleshoots students' amplification equipment
- administers medication following established procedures when required
- other duties when required

Qualifications:

- complete secondary education or equivalent related experience

American Sign Language Level 2.0 or higher is required

- previous experience working or interacting with deaf and hard of hearing persons
