About Us

About the Position


We are currently recruiting for a temporary full-time Food Services Coordinator to join our Kerith Creek Retreat centre in Alberta.

The Food Services Coordinator maintains a well-organized kitchen and food services, managing food inventory, planning and preparing all guests' food needs and liaise with management and hosts on serving guests well from a food perspective.


Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate all food supplies for retreats

  • Organize the kitchen
  • Use up (or discard) leftovers
  • Do inventory of food and kitchen supplies
  • Purchase all supplies, ensuring that costs stay within budget
  • Some driving for shopping will be required while it will also be encouraged to use delivery services
  • Review and create menus / recipes as needed in consultation with management staff
  • Bake muffins and desserts at Kerith Creek for future use
  • Prepare entrees and main meals at Kerith Creek for future use
  • Accommodate food allergy requirements; calling guests to discuss menus and providing substitutions or recommendations
  • Ensure food services run smoothly and meals are prepared and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the purchasing and receiving of all food inventory ensuring all items are sorted and stored properly according to expiration dates, inventory levels and budget.
  • Menu planning and creation of recipes within budget and in collaboration with management staff
  • Prepare entrees, main meals, muffins and desserts in advance for future use.
  • Physical strength and agility are required to reach and lift kitchen equipment and supplies.
  • Working conditions include working in a warm environment and standing for extended periods.
  • May require the ability to work varied shifts.

For primary consideration you must bring the following to this role:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience would be an asset.
  • Good culinary skills
  • FoodSafe certification
  • Valid driver's licence and use of own vehicle (mileage for grocery shopping to be reimbursed)
  • Exceptional task management skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Selfmotivated
  • Pleasant and engaging personality.
  • Strong attention to detail.
