    Social Media Coordinator (Summer Student)Burlington, ON, Canada - Seasonal

    Status: Full-time, summer contract

    Department: Marketing

    Compensation: $25 hourly

    JOB PURPOSE:

    We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Summer Student Social Media Coordinator to join our team and assist in managing social media platforms with a focus on the French Quebec market. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social media marketing, excellent communication skills in French and English, and a keen eye for engaging content.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage Islamic Relief Canada affiliate Instagram pages including the french, and inspire pages.
    • Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster positive relationships with the online community.
    • Create and curate engaging content including Instagram reels, swipe posts
    • Occasionally attend events to take photos & videos to turn into engaging content
    • Coordinate with volunteers to collect photos and videos to post on our pages after events, volunteer abroad trips, etc.
    • Monitor social media channels for trends, opportunities, and conversations relevant to our brand
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute bilingual social media campaigns, contests, and promotions targeting French Quebec audiences.
    • Analyze social media performance metrics and provide insights and recommendations for optimization.
    • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, best practices, and platform updates,
    • Work closely with a french translation team to develop compelling and professional social media captions
    • Support with adhoc marketing administrative tasks as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

    Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

    • Fluent in French and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
    • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences, particularly within the French Quebec market.
    • Creative thinker with the ability to develop engaging content and campaigns.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Google Analytics) is a plus.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Access to a car.
    • Must be eligible to work in Canada

    As this is a Canada Summer Jobs position, all applicants must meet eligibility guidelines as specified by Service Canada in order to be considered for the above position: be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and, have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
