The Manager of Snow School & Kids Programming is responsible for the operational, financial and employee performance of the Snow School, and Kids Programming.

They will work in cooperation with, and be responsible for the performance management of, the Assistant Managers and Supervisory staff.

They will ensure that all departmental operations run efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service at all times and will lead service recovery efforts whenever necessary.

In conjunction with the Director, Senior Manager and Assistant Managers, they will analyze financial information to inform daily operational decisions and will use this information to create annual budgets and drive departmental initiatives.

They will oversee employee training and performance management activities to ensure both quality control and employee satisfaction.

The Manager will also build relationships with other managers and act as the primary liaison for their departments with the rest of the resort.


WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Reviewing effectiveness of departmental operations, managing labour costs, overseeing and supporting scheduling duties, enforcing policies, preparing reports and advising senior management of trends in their areas
  • Managing the performance of the Assistant Manager and Supervisory staff including coaching through performance problems, performance evaluations, corrective actions and all related discussions
  • Overseeing the direction, planning and execution of employee training
  • Preparing and submits budgets for approval
  • Establishing procedures to implement policies and directives of senior management and recommends changes in policies to achieve objectives based on detailed knowledge of the unit's capabilities
  • Working with the Marketing department to communicate products and drive sales
  • Liaising with Human Resources to develop recruitment and retention strategies

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  • Previous ski and snowboard instructing experience required
  • Business unit leadership
  • 5 years or more resort leadership experience
  • Managed minimum budget of $1,000,000 in sales
  • Post-Secondary Commerce/Business degree or equivalent experience an asset
