Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support the Out of School Time Leader 1 to build their skills in leading programs
  • Plan a variety of age appropriate activities within the budget provided by the Programmer
  • Establish and communicate safety expectations within the program setting;
  • Follow policies and procedures relating to Supervision of Children and working independently/ remotely;
  • Set up and take down of program activities in shared spaces;
  • With Out of School Time Leader 1 to develop a safe, fun and ageappropriate program plan for participants, Grades K to 7;
  • Lead, supervise and engage with participants in program activities;
  • Lead regular communication to parents, school staff as needed and supervisors

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Previous experience working with children in K to Gr 7;
  • Previous experience working with children with complex needs an asset;
  • Grade 12 or postsecondary education;
  • Ability to establish good rapport with participants, coleaders, school staff and supervisors;
  • Has the maturity to work offsite independently, use sound judgement, and make confident decisions relating to program safety, policies and procedures.

Required certifications

  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • High 5 Certification
All employees should be prepared to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture program location. Available to work 3:30PM-6:00PM, weekdays, with potential to supplement hours at other NVRC programs, dependent on program demand.


HOURLY RATE:

$21.00 to $23.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
