Preschool Support Worker - Child Program Instructor:

North Vancouver Recreation & Culture is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. NVRC offers a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities.

We are currently seeking an energetic, responsible and highly-motivated individual who is able to provide one-on-one support to children who have disabilities or other support considerations.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE:

You will be delivering excellent customer experiences by working closely and cooperatively with parents, preschool teachers and other staff.

Preschool Support Workers play a valuable role supporting and developing a child's skills for success in a licensed preschool setting, and leading the implementation of an individual support plan.

In addition to working in the preschool program, you will prepare monthly reports and attend meetings, as required.


ABOUT YOU:

You are a courteous and effective team player committed to community.

You have sound knowledge of the principles, practices, and objectives of organized community recreation for preschool children along with working knowledge of applicable policies, regulations and rules governing the work performed.

You are a skilled communicator with a strong understanding of strategies to support participation and integration into a group setting, behaviour management, and early childhood development.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Current ECE certification or an approved alternate training/certification with a focus on supporting child development and inclusion. Emergency Childcare First Aid (or higher) & CPR-C.


Availability to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location and required to submit a Police Information Check prior to appointment.


HOURS:

Mondays 8:15-11:45am and sub shifts available at various times


HOURLY RATE:

$23.65 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits
